About My Designs

Most of the stained glass that I make is of my own design, though I will happily collaborate with clients to create a design to suit a client’s taste or theme. In general, my design work falls into one of two categories: scenes and geometric figures. I rely upon a variety of influences for the geometric figures, but the most obvious include the work of M.C. Escher, with his “regular division of the plane”, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Most of my design work is accomplished with the assistance of Glasseye software, a computer aided design package dedicated to stained glass. Using Glasseye allows me to easily explore variations in design, glass color, glass texture and the size of a design. For example, the design of the two pieces shown below is identical. What is different between them is the color and texture of the glass. Glasseye allows me to quickly and easily explore these variations.
